Tallinn's Christmas market on the medieval Town Hall Square is regularly named one of the prettiest in Europe. The square is ringed by merchants' houses and the 15th-century Town Hall, and the city says one of the first public Christmas trees stood here in 1441.
Stalls sell Estonian woollens, wooden crafts and sweets, with blood sausage, sauerkraut and hot glögi on the food side. Days are very short in December, so the lights come on by mid-afternoon.
Dates shown are from the 2025–26 season unless 2026 dates are marked — check the official website before you go.

The old town is about 15–20 minutes by tram or taxi from Tallinn airport. Ferries from Helsinki take around two hours, so the market is an easy add-on to a Finnish trip.
Daylight lasts barely six hours in December, so the lights are on for most of your visit. Dress for cold and possibly snowy weather.
Walk up Toompea Hill for views over the old town's rooftops, explore the medieval lanes and warm up with glögi and gingerbread in an old-town café.
