Last updated · How we compile this guide
Zurich has 11 Christmas markets in our directory. Last season most opened around 20 Nov and the last one closed on 23 Dec 2025; none stayed open after Christmas. All are free to enter.
Zurich's Christkindlimarkt inside the main railway station is one of the largest indoor Christmas markets in Europe, built around a giant Christmas tree. Outside, the Wienachtsdorf (Christmas village) fills Sechseläutenplatz by the opera house, the Singing Christmas Tree performs on Werdmühleplatz and smaller markets line the lanes of the Niederdorf old town.
Sorted by opening date. Dates shown are from the 2025–26 season unless 2026 dates are marked — check the official website before you go.
